Bikini's, Beachwear, Underwear ~ its all gonna get paired up with my Instagrammed Jewellery here.  I love a Bikini it takes me to exotic destinations. Beautiful beaches. Stunning Surf. Big floppy hats.

A Bikini allows me to have sunkissed skin and reminds me always of THAT paticular beach smell, you know the one thats has elements of suntan lotion, Watermelon, SeaSpray & sunshine?

Here I have collated my favourite images of beachwear & Underwear and I have teamed them with Jewellery pieces from the new design collection.

The cute Bambi numbers are laser cut Resin on vintage Brass Chain with French style lever backs.  Meet Bambinas, these were named by the lovely Kirsten over on Twitter where I ran a competition to find the best name. The winner won their very own pair, before they had even hit the shop.

Coming soon to the shop is the Le Exposition, a clash of the machine age deco with the Resin globe strung on Nappa Leather with tribal wood & Heishi beads.  The chain is vintage aged Brass.  This piece hangs to mid sunkissed chest.

The Tallilah Tribal art earrings a clash of Bohemia & the African Spice Route. A fabulous Deco feel to these, as travel opened up our world we were exposed to all things exotic and wonderful with an explosion of Africaan & Bohemia , amongst others. During the great Exposition Internationale Des Arts Decoratifs, Ballet Russe & Folies de Bergeres fashion & jewellery were influenced by all of these and more. It was an exciting time!

The Folies de Bergeres duo a mix of old & modern worlde.Top Bohemia Green Drop with natural dyed Turquoise stone arrow.  Bottom~  Cut Glass Crystal with natural dyed Turquoise arrow on vintage French style lever back fastening. Sparkles rocked up

This beautiful underwear/ lounge set. Bralet & Pants, monochrome & bows. How pretty would you feel lounging on your sun terrace Talitha Getty style wearing this little set with the rocked up sparkles ~ Folies de Bergeres? Fallen Star, laser cut Mother of Pearl with a beautiful creamy sheen.  The Star drop dangles from berry Red Czech Glass on vintaged Brass Patina chain with French style lever back hook. Inspired by the dancing girls & old movie stars who played & danced & sipped cocktails at venues like The Plantation Club & Follies - Bergere.

Another retro two piece with great print.  The Fallen Star could sit nonchalantly while hair is pinned up in messy bun.  Just accessorise with a smile while reclining somewhere with a fabulous sea view while inhaling all that particular, lovely invigorating sea air. Middle sits The Seberg, the Chandelier drop Dagger piece.  A simple necklace designed with vintage Chandelier drop on Vintage Patinaed Brass chain.

Beautiful Crystal drop dagger. The Chandelier drop sparkles in the light giving this piece a unique rock vintage vibe. Dangling provocatively just below the collarbone you wont need any more adornment, just freshly washed hair. Lightly tanned face. Aubergine eyeshadow. Bare lashes. Coral lips and a freshly crumpled white t shirt. I have only a few of these beautiful facetted Chandelier Drops so truly unique & who knows which fancy theatre they once twinkled in?? Loving this underwear set from Paris Eres.  The burst of sunshine colour and the great almost tailor -like cut of this set could carry off the Vintage Chandelier Dagger drop perfectly.  Let a white shirt show a hint of the citrus strap with The Seberg nestled between unfastened buttons to catch the light. The Camille ~ here Beautiful vintage Japanese hand~blown glass beads. Handpainted both sides illustrating Japanese Art, Birds & Blossoms. Exquisitely made these two beads form the centre piece on knotted summer White Nappa Leather on Sterling Silver caps.  Mixing it up with vintage patina Belcher chain. This piece sits mid sunkissed chest. Japanese Art exploded on the scene during the great Art Deco period and was greatly prized & sought after by collectors. It was felt across the Western world, influencing greats such as Toulouse~Lautrec, Degas & Klimt to name a few.

There's a subtle Deco feel to this image.  The dark edginess of the image and outfit lends itself beautifully to the prettiness of the hand painted illustrations of  The Camille. The Tabitha Czech ~ here  Old Czech glass tubes form the everlasting triangle. The Glass tubes give off an almost neon light lending just a little Vegas Neon edge to these classic looking earrings.  Suspended from luminous Sea Glass beads on a classic Old feel French lever back.

Nonchalance.  The Tabitha Czech will lend a glimmer of old school colour to this all Noir easy outfit. Just tuck big hair behind the ear, lounge on your favourite armchair sipping a glass of Red.  While gazing out on your favourite view.  I love the modern day retro feel of this shot. To the left is The Marlene Star. It is both modern and old, simple yet authentic.  With the Little Star formed from luscious Mother of Pearl & laser cut to form. Suspended from vintaged Enamel connectors on French lever backs. This piece could also be ordered with 14k Gold fill French Hooks ~ to make them even more precious, the choice is yours.  See here

I know the rest of the pairings have been lingerie & Bikini's but how could I not include this fabulous Wedding Dress? I came across the brand whilst halfway through working on this post and fell in love & immediately knew the Willow would marry the The Marlene Star. The Willow Dress is just one from their gorgeous Bridal range. 

The range has a real gracious & Old Movie Star feel.  Belle and Bunty was established in 2003 by the design duo ~Alice Shreeve and Hannah Coniam-Thompson. The Bridal range launched 2010. The label stands out to me for their fabulous hand illustrated prints and their beautifully feminine dresses. They have serious Swirl appeal!

Hitchcock's Leading Ladies take on Catwalk AW 11

Browsing images from the current AW 11 season there were lots to fall in love especially as im a sucker for vintage ....and dresses. From NY to London the catwalks showed  fabulous details with a big nod to vintage dressing - 40's influenced dresses, florals, demure yet sexy detailing, ladylike and pretty. But we also saw masculine based dressing which even though masculine makes it very sexy on the right person. If you cant afford the price tag for the men style suits, then get searching the charity shops as there is always a massive selection of well cut suits...or even raid Dad's, b.friends wardrobe? All you're gonna need is a good tailor and some chutzpah!! Keep hair &/or make up feminine and pretty.

There are no rules to using and wearing vintage, apart from maybe not use it head to toe in one hit.You dont want to look like you're in fancy dress. But thats just my opinion, you may want to look 'now' with your individual take.  So perhaps you wear your vintage dress with loose messy hair and a pair of favourite rock chick ankle boots with a modern but demure little cardigan over your shoulders.

I grew up watching and admiring Hitchcock movies and his leading ladies naughty elegance. So i thought i would marry the two.  So I  dressed Hitchcock's ladies wearing some of the pieces I fell in love with from  AW 11 season.

These were some of my favourite looks from the AW collections, If I could only buy just one piece then it would be a very tough decision but I think it would have to be the Paul Costelloe coat or even the Mulberry outfit but maybe..... Anyway I'm not going to have to choose - what i shall do is wait for the best of the High St and their interpretation of these pieces and mix them up with some of my favourite vintage pieces to give them a new lease of life. Tweed is gonna be massive this winter so I hope the colourful tweed version is picked up by the High St.
